Mission & Vision
Our mission is to bring together volunteers and businesses to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners in Petaluma. This activity has set in motion a continual cycle of renewal, community building and civic engagement. Our work includes nearly all aspects of home repair to assure that residents can live in warmth, safety and independence.
We work all year round to raise funds and material donations, recruit volunteers and perform other tasks in preparation for our Rebuilding Days. We also perform year- round home repairs that are urgent.

The National Effort of Rebuilding Together
Rebuilding Together, formerly "Christmas in April" began with a small group of founding affiliates more than 30 years ago.
The National Headquarters celebrated its 20th year in 2008 and is proud to represent an affiliate Network that completed over 100,000 projects in that time, a number that is growing by approximately 10,000 a year.
Rebuilding Together has delivered over $1 billion in market value with the help of 2.5 million volunteers who have committed time and effort.
2008 Impact:
- More than 10,000 owner-occupied homes and non-profit facilities repaired and modified.
- Market value: $100 million.
- Nearly 600,000 people served living with an average annual income of under $16,000
- Over 200,000 volunteered their time and skills to work with more than 200 Rebuilding Together affiliates serving thousands of communities throughout the United States.
Rebuilding Together is the nation's largest nonprofit organization working to preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize neighborhoods by providing home repair and renovation services at no cost to those in need.
In addition to its core home repair work, Rebuilding Together renovates community centers and conducts home modification and repair programs that focus on elder home safety, energy efficiency, veterans housing, and disaster recovery and reconstruction.
